Application of SEM Imaging and MLA Mapping Method as a Tool for Wettability Restoration in Reservoir Core Samples for SCAL Experiments

In reservoir engineering, special core analysis experiments (SCAL) are performed in the lab to evaluate production capabilities of an oil reservoir. A critical component SCAL is wettability restoration its original wettability, i.e., wet condition. Typically, aging by saturating with and at temperature where time variable question dictating whether resulting restored strongly or weakly oil-wet. lab, often experimentally validated using contact angle measurements USBM (United States Bureau Mines) tests, which consuming, expensive prone error. this study we developed a novel method Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) mineral liberation (MLA) imaging (at low vacuum conditions) determine rocks saturated fluids such as brine.
